By Old Gregg on December 2, 2013 I purchased the G12 from the Georgetown website because it was not offered on Amazon. The G12 is the smaller version of the G20 offered here. The G12 is awesome. I'm sure the G20 is just as high quality as the G12. This scuttle is perfect in all respects. It makes shaving an absolute pleasure. It keeps the shaving cream warm and the bumps and ridges build a lather that is simply amazing and effortless. I used a shaving bowl before this. This scuttle is so much better. It may seem pricey but it is so worth the extra money. I ordered it in hamada. It is beautiful and my wife has no problem with it sitting on the counter in full sight. Lather stayed warm for at least four passes. Only suggestion would be to furnish two stoppers in case won gets lost or wears out. I guess a wine cork would work then. Highly recommended for an enjoyable close wet shave. 6/7/15 Learned to use. Works great. I finally put in boiling water and the heat lasted for 4 or 5 passes at least.. The kettle shuts off automatically when the water boils and is located in a place where there will be no risk of electrocution. I pour the hot water into the mug and put some extra water in a separate container where I dip my razor. The rest of the water is used for making tea. :-) Here are the good points: 1) It looks nice and is available in many colors at the manufacture's website. 2) It works very well. The inside of the bowl is just the right size and shape. The reservoir is big enough to hold a lot of hot water so it stays warm throughout the shave. There are a few minor negatives: 1) I wish the opening was a bit bigger so it could be filled a bit faster. 2) The price is fair for a high quality piece of pottery, but it still may be more than some want to spend for a hot shave.
