Nice smelling and non-irritating

Our observations: The pre-shave oil smells very nice. (As do all the products.) He shaved before his shower and he felt that the oil was a bit "goopy" and hard to rinse off. I did not use very much on my legs and thought it was nice feeling and that it did do as it says and made the hairs softer andeasier to shave. The shave cream is very thick. I added a little water to it and applied with my hands. He used the brush included in the package. We both found that a little cream went a very long way! We both had way too much applied. The cream is thick, but neither of us felt that the cream "clogged" our razors as we shaved. It was easy to rinse off the razor and our skin. The aftershave is very soothing and moisturizing. His face feels smoother than it has in a long time. My legs are very smooth too. I had a nick on my knee and the aftershave did not irritate or burn. We both smell very nice still, several hours later, so the product will leave a nice smell on you for while. The lavender kit, which is what we tested, is made with lavender essential oil. Lavender is well known for relaxing benefits, but it also has anti-aging properties which make it a really nice thing to have in skin care products. The kit is pricy, but the products are going to last a long time since they really do go a long way when you use them. The packaging is a slight issue. We really had to work to get the items out of the box. They have a sticky thing on them that attaches them to the box, to hold them tight for shipping, and it does not want to release. A shaving kit fit for Mr. Darcy

It conjures up a hero from a Jane Austen novel, knife-sharp cheekbones, long sideburns, a snowy white cravat. Sigh. I ordered this kit for my own Mr. Darcy. I was supremely satisfied with the kit. It arrived in a sturdy decorative box, suitable for gifting. The brush is well made, with soft but durable bristles. The lotions have a light, pleasant lavender scent. It is not over-powering or over-floral. My husband said the shaving lotion had a good lather, but he really liked the shaving oil. I thought he balm left his face smooth and kissable. This was a gift for my brother and he also now raves about the products. I never realized what a difference a great brush makes combined with saving oil and rich lather. I think that they still capture the essence of what the original owners wanted: great quality products! The problem is the company that now owns the art of shaving. They haven't been able to quickly react to the market and to quickly start sending these products abroad. Their customer service really sucks and the complaints never reach the decision makers (if any) within the company. They keep sending cliche phrases without taking any actions that support them. Really bad. I found it great that i was able to get these products through Amazon! The 4 step system really works. it is also great to read the book of the original owners to understand the system and the reasons behind it. The company does a poor job in marketing the system and the information from the book doesn't reach the final customer. Nevertheless, I guess it is worthless to keep wasting my time in writing this review for them. If you are a potential customer, buy the product and buy a good shaver, you will enjoy it! Goodbye razor burn, wife likes the smell, long lasting

If you're not over lathering, you should get 2.5 months of daily use out of the shave lotion concentrate. The oil ran out a little faster because it is easy to over apply, and the after shave is still going strong (but I don't always use it). I expect the brush to last for years. Overview: This is a good set of full-sized products to buy or give as a gift. If you’re used to shaving every other day with regular shaving cream only, this set of products should make it possible to shave every day, comfortably. The only downside is that some of the products have to be literally pried out of the packaging with a butter knife. Packaging: Certainly good-enough quality and nice-enough looking to give as a gift, and the packaging is frustration-free. The products are packed in a clamshell box with a magnetic closure and held shut with a paper sleeve with marketing information. The box itself is blue, and unmarked. There isn’t any plastic wrap around the box. Removing the glass bottles from the box is very difficult. I had to pry them out with a butter knife. Once out of the box, the products and shaving brush present very well. The pre-shave oil and after-shave lotion are both packed in high-quality glass bottles, and the shaving brush is a good quality, badger-hair brush with a plastic handle. The shaving cream is packed in a plastic screw-top tub that is easy to handle. Product usage impressions: The pre-shave oil is thicker than I would have guessed, about the same viscosity as 60 weight gear oil. It does smell nice (lavender and some kind of spice).
