The Braun Series 5 5030s Electric Shaver has changed my mind about electric shavers

By LeRoy Sonker Jr. on June 11, 2014 I'm 47 and I have been shaving with a disposable or manual razor for as long as I can remember. I have tried rotary electric razors and foil razors in the past but have always come back to the smooth shave of a manual razor. Electric razors always seemed to snag and pull at my facial hair and I never saw any benefit to using them. Also, I have had a goatee since I started my Buffalo Sabres "play-off beard" when they went to the Stanley Cup Finals (and lost) in 1999, so manual razors made it very easy to shave around it. So about three weeks ago, I received a Braun Series 5 Electric Shaver and decided to give it a try. It is far superior to any electric razor that I have tried in the past. This includes my son's Remington F2-3800 Shaver, the foil head on my WAHL Groomsman beard trimmer, and various others I have tried and taken back over the years. I have read other reviews that bag on the noise level and that it is not easy to remove the head for cleaning. I disagree. I am not familiar with other Braun electric shavers but this one has two little buttons, and when depressed, the head pops right off. As far as noise goes, it is no louder than any of the beard trimmers that I have had in the past. There have been several. Things I like: the rubberized exterior, the comfort of the cut, the trimmer. The shaver feels good in your hand. It has a good weight. The angle of the head is good and easily pivots or locks, if you prefer. The razor zips right along over my face and does the job in a fair amount of time, even compared to a manual razor. The trimmer slides out easily enough and is good size for trimming around my beard. My 1st electric razor

By CARY WASHINGTON on June 7, 2014 The Braun Series 5 5030 electric shaver is an outstanding shaver. Let me first state that this is the very first electric shaver I have ever owned or used. And because of my great experience with it I seriously doubt I will use a manual razor again. Key benefits: • Pivoting head that helps give a close shave. • The middle trimmer cuts flat and straight hairs very well. • LED lets you know how much battery life is left. • Shave head can be safely washed under hot water. • Soft travel bag and travel cap are included. My brother, who has been using electric shavers for years, tried many times to get me to try an electric shaver but I always refused. Finally the other day we went to the store and I remember hearing good things about the Braun brand and so I turned to my brother and asked him what he thought and he said the 5 series would be a good introduction for me. So I bought it and took it home read the instructions which were included. i was pleased that not only that they were well written but Braun also included a pictured instruction that would help the novice such as myself. I charged up the shaver for almost 50 minutes before I used it. The shaver started with a low hum and I placed it to my skin and I will pleased to discover that I could barely feel it on my skin. But as I looked myself in the mirror, I could see the razor stubble pile up into my sink. After about 3-4 minutes I was finished and there were no cuts but I did have a clean close shave. Cleaning the S5 was a breeze. I unplugged it from the wall socket and placed the shaving head under hot water for about 2 minutes. Then I let it hang and dry itself out in about 10 minutes.
