It wouldn't let the shaver lower into the cleaning solution - apparently a malfunctioning sensor that thought the cleaning solution level was too low. This one works fine. It has three settings: eco, auto, and intense cleaning. The whole process, including drying, takes about an hour, but all takes place automatically.
