Verified Purchase I got this model for a few reasons: 1) The adjustment wasn't a cheap plastic guard, it uses Li-Ion batteries for long run-time and quick recharge and 3) it was a reasonable price. While I can see the price almost doubled in the two weeks since I bought my trimmer (shame on the seller!). I am very picky when it comes to my electronics and health products, so it says something that I am very pleased with this trimmer. The thing I like the best is that since the guard adjustment is in the trimmer itself, it is extremely sturdy and there is no way it will slip out of your desired guard number. The blades themselves are also very heavy-duty and feel like they are quality made. It powers through beard hair easily and is really easy to clean. I charged it out of the box and have used it twice for my face and armpits with no loss of power. My old shaver couldn't even make it a few minutes. My only warning: I don't think Remington means for you to use the beard blade directly on your face, only with the guard on it. While I don't go for the stubble look, I run the trimmer blades over my face directly instead of actually shaving since my skin is sensitive. Using the "beard trimmer" blade ended up with a few cuts on my face and neck because of the wider-pitched teeth on the blade. A few days later, I re-shaved with the "stubble trimmer" blade and had no problem. It actually cuts pretty close itself. Mark the stubble blade because the only difference between it and the beard blade is how far apart the teeth are on the blade itself. I don't plan on using the beard blade directly on my face again. Ouch! In short, it's a slick device, feels like a quality device, and hopefully will last me a long time. The old trimmers had a bad habit of losing the ability to correctly hold a charge after a couple years. This unit works exactly as the old trimmers did: with 9 length settings for triming, a simple on/off switch, and a guard that easily comes off for cleaning the unit of cut hair. There's no loud vacuum included, there's no useless secondary trimmer to pop open randomly, and -- most importantly -- there's no useless touch screen included in this model. I charged my unit overnight after receiving it and have been using it for a couple weeks now without it needing a recharge. It moves effortlessly through my beard and seems to trim it well, arguably better than the old units. In addition to "classing up" the design of this unit, the weight has been re-balanced so that the head is heavier than the handle, which makes shaping a beard (particularly cutting in the direction of growth, for a longer beard) nearly effortless. I narrowed my choices to the Wahl and this Remington, both for the same price. I wanted a lithium, hoping the battery would be an improvement over old trimmers. My old trimmer had a bunch of attachments, like the Wahl, so it would adapt to many uses. The Rimington has a zoom wheel which raises the plastic beard attachment up or down to 9 different settings. I liked the idea of this built-in system instead of the myrid of attachments I previously had for my trimmer. I have used it twice on my beard and had no problems. It cuts quickly without pulling. The adjustment wheel works as I expected and gives a very fine length adjustment for beard, sideburns and around ears. The goatee head allows fine trimming at the lip edges and also cuts quickly and efficiently. I haven't had trouble changing heads, you just have to take the time to do it correctly, which is not hard. It is a little hard to clean all the hair out from under the head because it adheres to the lube oil. I use a can of compressed air but still have to take some time to get the hair out.
