This shaver glides over the skin and cuts the beard and doesn't cause cuts or chafing. It is comfortable and efficient. I love it. It seems to be sturdy, and the self cleaning mechanism works well. Shaves as close as a blade, the only thing that could be closer is using a straight edge, but who has time for that. I wish I could give this thing 10 stars. I will never buy another product to shave my head. I actually did not buy this here on amazon though, you can get it at BBB for $249, and if you use their 20% coupon you can get it for $200. Great deal for a superior product. I have been shaving my head off and on for years. I always quit shaving it because using a blade is so time consuming and I could never find an electric shaver that could do the job. Well I'm here to tell you that this is the one. Do yourself a favor and quit reading this review. Go buy it NOW before they run out. I would have paid full price for this item, it is that superior. Happy Shaving!! Does an amazing job with long hairs!

I have a beard. I like to keep my neck clean shaven. I let everything go for about 3 weeks.I trimmed my beard (I like to keep it close) The hairs on my neck were long. My normal routine would have been to clip the hairs with a clipper then shave. Testing how well the series 7 cuts long hairs I just shaved my neck. Didn't pull, didn't bog down, it worked wonderfully. I was very impressed. The shave head looks like it is designed for cutting long hairs and it does a wonderful job. Still, given the way it performs, it's worth the price. If you like the closeness of blade shaving, but like the convenience of electric shaving, this is the product for you. My beard is not particularly heavy, so depending upon how heavy a beard your have, YMMV. While it says that it's a Wet/Dry shaver, the instructions say that for best results, you should start with a dry beard. I've had to change my morning routine a bit, since with other Wet/Drys, I have shaved while showering - cost and slight change of routine are not enough to knock it down to a 4 star rating.
