By Ive owned the same model since 2007. Ive used it in the military out in the field, deployed, its been soaked in water, shampoo, shaving cream and its still running. As far as the shaving goes, it gets as close as any other high dollar shaver can get and leaves no irritation at all. With that being said i shave after I shower and use after shave right after. Love this shaver. The only model I will ever own.

I have used the 4990 model and it would get sluggish after only 2 shaves even before the charge indicator light came on. The F4790 model, however, is much better and will give you several shaves even beyond the time the red charge light comes on. If it should run down, you can run it with the cord, which is a feature many shavers don't have. It recharges in only one hour and lets you know when it's ready with a green flashing light. The trimmer slides up along side of the foil and is easier to use than other models. The foil usually lasts about 2 months before needing replacement and is readily available in most stores.
