For years I have used 2 shavers. A rotary shaver for my face, and a Braun foil for under my neck. My old Braun would cut slower than the rotary and get warm. It seemed to be working very hard as compared the rotary. It finally died. I can not use the rotary under my neck due to irritation. If I had to choose one shaver it would be the Braun. But my old Braun was never good enough, so I continued using 2 shavers. Fast forward to this new 5030s. One would think, how can they keep improving such a simplicit design? Well they did. It is so much better, that when my rotary dies, I will not have to replace it. It cuts twice as fast and does not heat up when cutting. This is the best shaver I ever had.

The Braun 5 5030s is a wonderful electric shaver that is corded/cordless. Great shave and feels good in your hand. You have the ability to plug it into the electric wall socket or use stored battery power. No other modern shaver made by Braun, Norelco or Panasonic has this feature. If the battery is low just plug it in and you have full power. It will stay fully charged as you shave. My "Limited edition" version came with extra shaving blade head worth $35! Just one great deal!

BRAUN 5030 SOLO SHAVER ON THE CUTTING EDGE

I have used an electric razor since I was a teenager and used many brands. My current razor was an older Braun 4735 so I was very excited receive a new Braun 5030 Solo Shaver from Braun to evaluate for free. So far, the Braun 5030 Solo Shaver has exceeded my expectations in the weeks I have been using it. My review will talk about the design and how the razor performs. Even though the directions had multiple languages and drawings, they were easy to follow and the razor was charging and ready to go within minutes. While the Braun 5030 was bigger than my old Braun 4735, it is a good size and fits in my hand nicely. It is a good weight and easy to hold while shaving. The display for charging was easy to read and see how much time was left. One feature I liked was the display was dark after charging. I had another razor that continued to blink while the razor was plugged in, which could be annoying. The swivel head is a great feature and easy to lock/unlock. I mainly use it unlocked but it stayed locked when I was testing the functionality. I also liked the fact that there are 2 buttons that need to be pushed before the head can be removed. This should help with the head accidentally coming off. I haven't used the feature yet but am pleased there is a lock to prevent the razor from accidentally turning on when travelling. I have actually had this happen and resorted to taping the buttons so the razor would stay off. The locking mechanism on the Braun 5030 seems much easier. I have read some reviews saying the Braun 5030 Solo Shaver does not shave as close as a non-electric razor. In all my experience of shaving, no electric razors will shave as close as a non-electric one.Read more ›

I recently received a Braun Series 5 electric shaver from Braun (Procter & Gamble) to conduct a product review. I was very excited about trying out this electric shaver because I have heard so many great things about this brand. I have used electric shavers in the past but never a Braun. I stay away from electric shavers due to several issues I have had with other brands. I thought I could never achieve a close shave with an electric shaver. Electric shavers in the past have always irritated my skin fairly easily. Sadly, I have become a disposable razor guy over the years and I was not sure what to expect from the Braun Series 5 at first. Upon receiving the Braun Series 5 sample product I was delighted to find a well crafted piece of Germany engineering at its best. The box contains 1 detachable power cord, 1 power supply, 1 Braun Series 5 electric shaver, a plastic cover for the shaver, 1 small cleaning brush, 1 pull string pouch for the shaver, 1 instruction manual and 1 small bottle of appliance oil to keep the shaver in good working condition. The shaver is sleek and looks high-tech. The feel indicates that it is made of high quality materials. It’s defiantly eye candy for those who like nice looking things. It has a rubber grip that wraps around the shaver for a non-slip grip. The front of the shaver has a shiny finished plastic with a red popping highlight at the base of the shaver head. The shaver contains two buttons on the front. A power button and the multi headlock slid button. Also you will find a battery display indicator and travel lock indicator.
