No need to twist my arm
By Toothfurry on March 13, 2016
After almost forty years with a razor and cream, I bought this Norelco recently to simplify left-handed shaving with a broken right arm. Part of the reason I resisted electric shavers for so long is that the one time I tried one, I had a horrible experience, like scraping my face with broken glass. I was emboldened to order this one after experimenting with my son's electric shaver, which seemed to work fine and caused no discomfort. I am happy enough with this purchase that I expect to continue using it at least as often as not after my arm is healed. With practice it shaves almost as close and quickly as a blade, without the mess or the need to coordinate shaving and showering to ensure a moist face. The heads flex in a few more directions than my son's low end Norelco, making shaving just a tad more convenient still than with his. I made sure when buying it that it would work directly from the power cord in a pinch; however, unlike some of my older battery powered devices, the "battery low" indicator has so far prevented the unpleasant surprise of a dead battery. The closest thing to a negative that I can find with this gadget is that cleaning it is not quite as convenient as the advertising might make you think. Yes, you can pop the head open and rinse it, but you still need to take the thing apart every few days and clean the individual pieces. Otherwise, those gunked-up innards will make shaving less effective and be no sight for the faint of heart. On the whole, however, I'm quite satisfied with this device. You wouldn't need to twist (or break) my arm to get me to buy it again.

Excellent Product!

I always find it interesting how the reviews on products around here can be so varied. You'll have one person who says the product is one of the best things that ever happened to them. Another person will say that they were almost attacked by the darn product and it made them bleed, and that it's absolutely horrible! I'm a straight shooter, black and white kind of guy. I don't have time to play games. I just want a razor that works. Last night I decided to buy a razor and wanted a razor immediately (that's why you don't see me as a verified purchaser here). I went to the Walmart a mile from my house. About the same price as here - $50.00. And I bought this 3100 series razor. My previous razor was a Norelco 7310XL. This razor works well. It gives you a nice clean close-cut shave without any hassle. It's washable (not to be confused with being able to use it in the shower). And if you recharge it for several hours, you'll be able to use it cord-less style for up to 45 minutes too. If being able to use it in the shower, and having it charge faster are higher priorities to you, for a few bucks more (less than $10 more) you can buy the 3500 series razor. Those are not high priorities to me, and so I went with the 3100. Buy new blades every 6 months (I get 'em auto-sent to me by Amazon) and clean out your razor on a regular basis and it'll last you for awhile!

Works for me, right price, right features

I've used this brand for years, and get a new one about every five years. Main thing I like about this one is it works with or without the cord plugged in. Most are either corded only (no battery), or cordless only (the battery must be charged before you can use it.)

This shaver works great. It glides very smoothly on my face dry ...

This electric razor was to replace my old Norelco shaver that i had owned for about 5 years. This shaver works great. It glides very smoothly on my face dry and i have little to no irritation shaving under my nose, cheeks, neck, or chin. I use this shaver daily for a 2 minute trim and i have had no issue with short battery life. In my use one charge lasted my about 2 weeks. My only complaint with this shaver is its lack of charge LED. My old shaver had a battery level indicator so i knew when i needed to charge it. This shaver does NOT have that which makes deciding when it needs to be charged a crap shoot. The side burn trimmer integrated in this model works great too. All in all defiantly worth the price of the unit.

A Great Shave
By Joe G on April 27, 2016
I can't believe anyone would give this razor less than five stars. I've been shaving for over sixty years and, except for a couple disappointing years with a Remington, have always used Norelcos. My last one lasted over a decade, and I only had to replace the heads once. Well, it finally quit on me a couple months ago. I thought I'd try the rather inexpensive Model 3100 since it had pretty good reviews. I'm so happy that I did. I get the fastest, best and most comfortable shave ever with this shaver.
