Many of the new shavers have bulky wall-wart adapters/plugs to meet low-voltage safety standards and are not effective for travel. The Hatachi is a well-made shaver that is compact. It operates only as a rechargeable shaver (you cannot charge while in use) with a retractable US-spec AC plug that plugs the entire shaver into the outlet while recharging. No cord to fuss with!!
