It is easy to clean. The blade system snaps on and off for easy (though not cheap) replacement. The unit does not accept 220V, a downside for international travelers. Update...After six months of weekly usage, I still hold this item in high regard. It is working as if it were new. Update...After 18 months of weekly usage, the unit still operates as if new. I hate to shave. I have tried everything to shave without scraping my face or leaving rouge hairs that refuse to get downsized. I have used razors with one, two, three, four, and I think even five blades. Each one gets more expensive than the one before it. I have used every shaving cream/lotion around. I have also used every pre shave and after shave that I could find. I have used Norelco, Remmington, and Panasonic electrics. I've tried them in the shower and I tried them at the sink. I even used two at one point - a old Norelco to trim the hairs, and then a newer Norelco the shave the hairs. This turns out to be innertive, as I must trim - shave, repeat several times. BTW, I hate Norelco. The newest ones are on the level of toys. The one my dad had thirty years ago was better than the ones they have today. Back to the review. I asked the hair cutter, "Do you use that on people's faces?" She answered "Yes." Okay, off to Amazon to find the peanut trimmer. It came in the mail, and could not wait to try it. My wife was also excited, as she hates my perpetual beard. I plugged it in, and mowed a path through the thick mane on my face. "Wow, where has this been all my life!" Now, I am a peanut man.
