Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? ) I need to admit right up front that one of my least enjoyable chores in life is shaving; especially with a razor. However, since I have tough, curly whiskers and sensitive skin, shaving with a razor has been the only way I could consistently get a really close shave. I've wanted to find an electric shaver that could handle my whiskers quickly, with the minimum of discomfort and still leave me with a reasonably close shave. This shaver from Philips Norelco advertises a “close cut, convenient, easy shave.” That's what I have been looking for. This Philips Norelco S1150 shaver is reasonably priced and obviously majors on providing a close shave without the accessories and add-ons that come with the more expensive shavers. Frankly, I think there is a place in the market for a basic shaver. Philip Norelco doesn't try to advertise this S1150 as a high or mid-end shaver. They describe this shaver on the retail box as “Closest electric shaver at entry level.” The shaver itself weighs only a little over a half pound (8.5 oz.), which is pretty lightweight. For me, that made working the shaver around my face and neck much easier than my son's heavy Braun shaver. From tip to tip, it measures almost 6½” and it had enough bulk in the handle to fit nicely in my hand. The on/off button is located on the underside of the handle and that always concerns me. The last thing I want to do while shaving is gripping the shaver and inadvertently turn it off and on. The ergonomically designed handle and rubberized grip on this shaver ensured my relatively small hand could achieve a tight, yet comfortable grip without inadvertently turning the shaver off.
