I've used this model for ~3 weeks now. I hadn't used anything other than hair trimmers to shave since my 20's, as all the other options I tried (razor blades, electrics, dipilatories) led to ingrown hairs. Not uncommon for African American males, but I was determined not to cultivate a scarred face of bumps so I lived for >20 years with a not so close shave. I'm 49 now. I stumbled across the Wahl Bump Free and had great results the first week. I then thought shaving technology may have evolved and looked to see what other electric shavers were available that might also handle the ingrown hair problem and I switched to a Braun 740s. The Braun left me bumpy the very next day. I ended up having to use the 'homemade TendSkin' recipe on Makeupalley.Com (if you suffer from razor bumps, you should definitely Google this) to get them under control. After another 2 days of suffering with the aftermath of the Braun's 'closer but more bump ridden' shave, I switched back to this model Wahl and have been relatively fine since. I get slightly more irritation than hair trimmers, but nowhere near the stubble. I would agree with another reviewer that the shave isn't quite as close in all areas (especially where the hairs are flat and my skin a bit irritated) but any closer and I've found I end up a bumpy mess and this is still much closer than hair clippers. I highly recommend giving these a try if you've suffered from the ingrown hair problem.

I'm a believer.

I was very skeptical when purchasing this shaver. It does not have any "nano technology" or a "color lcd display". No swivel heads, no center cutter bar, not even a charge indicator. Coming out of the box, it looks gaudy and feels lightweight. But darned if it doesn't shave far better and faster than any shaver I have ever used. I am absolutely blown away at how close it shaves and how quickly it mows down days old stubble. It's by far the best shave I have ever had. I'm not sure how this basic looking shaver can work so darn good, but it really does.

I never give reviews but had to for this. After going bald 15 years ago I could never find a product toshave my head without getting razor bumps and I've tried everything. I recently talked to a barber and he recommended I use this shaver a which is designed for all ethnicities. He also said to shave your long hairs with clippers, close your pores by running cold water over your head, rub your head with coconut oil, wash your hands and slowly shave with this shaver. After I shave I rinse off the oil with cold water then apply a good after shave(non alcoholic). Been doing this for a month with no razor bumps.

Good product, no razor bumps but it does cut close and I receive some bumps from hairs recurling back in the skin. I just use on my neck and chin and use a T-Blade clipper for the cheeks. It doesn't get as close but it saves my face from any breakouts.
