Much better than my series 5 contour. Power lasts at least 2 weeks before needing recharge. I like the new trimmer because its easier to trim my beard, side burns and nose hair. The most comfortable electric shave yet.

Excellent Shaver far surpasses the Series 3 it replaced

Excellent razor, I've been slumming with a Series 3 for about 3 years now and this is a sea change. The shave from this Series 5 is close comfortable and quick. Cut my shaving time in half and provides a much cleaner shave. I passed up on this shaver due to cost when I bought the Series 3, a mistake I will not make again. You get what you pay for even on name brand products.

Excellent razor, I've been slumming with a Series 3 for about 3 years now and this is a sea change. The shave from this Series 5 is close comfortable and quick. Cut my shaving time in half and provides a much cleaner shave. I passed up on this shaver due to cost when I bought the Series 3, a mistake I will not make again. You get what you pay for even on name brand products.

I really like this shaver. I bought one through Amazon a few years ago, but my son took it from me as he was going away to college. And so I bought it again. It shaves smoothly and I use the cleaner every 10 days or so.

reasonable shaver for the price.. would recommend panasonic instead.

Does it's job but somehow not as clean as i would have hoped. Compared it with a panasonic 4 blade electric shaver and it lost out. However, if you are a Braun loyalist. This baby still gets the job done.

My first Braun shaver was wenn I was 25 years old in Germany . Since that I used almost everyday my Braun. Braun head perfectly adapts around the jaw line and under the chin to give me an excellent shave in problem areas. And the Braun Clean & Renew(tm) System - to keep the shaver like new every day. I am very proud with my Braun 5.

I like it so much I felt like I had to give it a positive review. I would put off shaving for days because it always jacked my neck up, Even most of the big name multi-blade razors. with this shaver I can use it every day (in fact, just about every 24 hours). The shave is close, and it works quickly. But the best part is that after shaving I have no raw, red, bumpy irritation marks. Also as others have said, the battery lasts a good while. I think it's a fantastic product and I would recommend this to anyone who has a bad time with blades. I'm very happy with it.

Braun Series 5 comparison and evaluation of cc3 and cc4 models. Part 1

Through circumstances caused by a shipping error, and the subsequent spectacular response of an amazon marketplace seller, I have the oppurtunity to evaluate and compare the Braun series 5 550cc3 to the series 5 565cc4. The cc4 is the newest offering from braun in the series 5 lineup. I initially ordered the 565cc4 as a complete shaving system but because of a shipping error I received a 550cc3 shaver as a standalone item. I contacted the seller who immediately shipped the correct item and told me to keep the one I received in error. I paid $75.00 which is the best price I have seen offered for a new series 5 Braun. This first review will be of the 550cc3 that I have been shaving and trimming with for the last three weeks. I owned a braun syncro previously and used it for nearly seven years. When the battery finally gave up I bought a Norelco HS-85 that dispenses Nivea shaving lotion. I used it for three months before giving up completely. I was unsatisfied with the closeness of the shave and the cost of the Nivea lotion refills. I tried using it without the lotion and got a good case of razor burn for my effort. So far the 550cc3 shaves just as well if not better than my syncro and the trimmer is far superior. The only area that I have to go over twice is my neck but that seems to be the case for me with any electric shaver. The closeness and comfort are both outstanding with the 550. The trimmer is narrower than on the syncro which makes mustache trimming much easier. The trimmer is also very powerful and I have used it on my chest and pubic area as well. I usually use a Norelco bodygroom 2020 for body hair removal but the 550 is more than suffiient for touching up while traveling.Read more ›
